Buenos dias/tardes/noches,
Here we are and now live from the Galapagos islands.
Lets keep on going where we stopped last time, Nasca Peru.
In Nasca Rutger and Andrea decided to book a flight over the lines. For Eline and me this was a bit too expensive for our travel budget so we went to a look out tower to see a few of the lines. The lines are older then the Inca empire and they still don`t know how they were made and what they mean. We found them impressive but the pictures Rutger and Andrea showed us gave it an extra dimension! After the lines Rutger, Eline and I decided it was time for some adrenaline so we booked a sandbuggy tour including sandboarding. The tour was amazing and the driver was crazy! Sometimes the buggy was going vertically down and we even had some airtime!!!! The sandboarding was not like in Chile but still very nice to do.
After Nasca we went to Lima to say goodbye to Rutger and Andrea. After a few weeks travelling they were going home again and we went on with the 2 of us. Lima is an okay city, nothing special. So after walking around for a day we had seen most of it. We stayed in a very nice part of the city called Miraflores. This is the posh part so very safe to walk around and good for hanging around before catching the bus to Huaraz. To save some time during the last few weeks, we decided to take as many nightbuses as possible. Because the buses are very comfortable you still feel relaxed after arriving in the city. Huaraz is a city on altitude (3000m) and a good base for trekking. We found out we were very tired of walking a lot and we decided just to do a daytrek. After this we would leave to the beach as soon as possible. The daytrek was very nice and the scenery was amazing. Walking around in the mountains here is very cool and if it was in the beginning of our journey we easily could have spend a lot more time here. But we were fed up with the altitude so after a day it was more then enough. Sounds very spoiled!!!!!!
The night bus brought us to Huanchaco. A nice small village nearby Trujillo. We wanted some sun and beachtime. So Huanchaco was the place to be! After one day of sun the sun decided to stay away :-S......! The campsite we were staying was very nice and we had hammocks all over the place. We stayed a few extra days to relax and to go surfing :-D. Cloudy days were not where we came for so we left on a quest to find the sun.... Mancora was the city the bus stopped and the sun came. Mancora is a small surfing town with shops and a nice beach. The one thing we did here was ........ nothing! We only relaxed on the beach and enjoyed the sun for 4 days before going to the Galapagos islands. In Mancora we were staying on a campsite with a lot of interesting people. One of them thought Eline to make home made bread, which was very nice and tasty.
Next stop was Ecuador where we are now at the moment. But to write something about the Galapagos islands we need a lot more time then we have at the moment. We will post something about the islands in a week or so.
It`s not possible to include pictures with this post because internet is so slow here that. You all have to wait for that a couple of days more.
